Friday Update! Hey all, concert recordings are in the sidebar->. Pictures from last night have been posted in the Photo Gallery. Look for concert videos to be posted on the Band and Chorus A/V Blogs before the night is through. Click on those buttons in the sidebar. Great job everybody!!!
Finally – we get to perform our programs for the school, family, and friends. Please join us this Thursday evening, January 26th for our annual Winter Concert. Student need to report by 6:30, with the first notes starting at 7pm sharp. If you didn’t see the concert notice with all the details, you can see it by ->clicking here.
The rest of the week is also quite busy.
Tuesday: Symphonic Band will begin Activity Block early (12:55?) in the auditorium, with the Concert Band reporting to the stage at the start of Activity Block.
Wednesday: Concert Dress Rehearsal for all music ensembles for 6th and 7th Grade students. Start time is yet to be determined – students should listen to morning announcements. All instruments need to be in the building for this. Students do not need to dress up for this, but should certainly look ‘presentable’ (please no t-shirts).
Thursday: Regular school schedule. 7pm – MSMS Winter Concert – all are welcome. Doors open at 6:15. Formal concert dress required (plain white tops, black slacks/skirts). Students should report to the following areas by 6:30: Chorus – Cafe; Concert Band – A19; Symphonic Band – Music Room.
Friday: Concert Assembly for 8th Grade students. Start time is yet to be determined – students should listen to morning announcements. All instruments need to be in the building for this.
Saturday: Jr. District Auditions for registered students. We are still awaiting the exact audition time for Burlington students and expect to have info sheet and permission slips for Tuesday’s Activity Block. Since they usually schedule towns by alphabet and distance (they’re in Methuen) we are assuming that the bus will leave around 9am and return around 11-11:30. Mr. Bolduc has posted recordings of the pieces on the ->Band A/V Blog for participating students – practice!!
See everyone on Thursday evening!
Congratulations to all our 7th Grade music classes for an outstanding 2nd Quarter. The guitar skills demonstrated over the past week were very impressive. This week we welcome all new classes as we begin the 3rd Quarter (and the second half of the school year).

Welcome to the MSMS Music Blog.
We hope this blog helps music students and parents keep informed of policies and expectations regarding participation in any of our music offerings. Band and Chorus students in particular should check back regularly for information on weekly rehearsal and lesson changes. It is our intent to use this site to disseminate relevant information during the school year as a supplement to any handouts issued in class, and also to offer links to websites of interest to music students and parents. We are very interested in making this site as useful and informative as possible. Feel free give us your thoughts or suggestions on how we may better serve you.
